Exercise Recommendations for those 50 to 64 with serious health conditions. This is probably the least convincing part of the new guidelines as no convincing reason for the strange age range 50 to 64 is offered and the words used need some concentration " . . with clinically significant chronic conditions and/or functional limitations." The reality is that if you are over 50 with any serious or even just worrying health condition then you will want to have a doctor's examination (possibly with a stress test - which is often called a GXT ) and sign off that you are OK to exercise sensibly. Look at this set of questions to get ready to talk to your doctor. The Guidelines emphasise having an exercise plan. |
